Swedish Hill Winery has teamed up with O’Begley Distillery in Pittsford, New York, to produce hand sanitizer that will be donated to hospitals.  The winery, located in Romulus New York, shipped 330 gallons of wine to O’Begleys, who will in turn distill it to produce higher alcohol and then subsequently produce a hand sanitizer that will be donated to hospitals in the area.

Swedish Hill Co-Owner David Peterson commented “everyone knows that there is a critical shortage of medical supplies for facilities that are testing for and treating the COVID-19 virus. We thought that this was an opportunity to support the efforts to combat this devastating illness.  It is alarming that our medical facilities and care providers do not have all the tools that they need to fight the battle, and we hope that this donation will help in a small way.  We are all in this together, and this is about everyone uniting to do what we can.”

Swedish Hill, located on Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes, was started by and is owned by the Peterson family.  The Peterson family, now in its 3rd generation on the farm has been growing grapes since 1969, and opened the winery in 1986.
