Looking out over Chemung Valley take note of the rounded hilltops and in some instances, jagged ridges cut into the side of the hills. These features are evidence of the glaciers that carved out the valley during the last ice age 12,000 years ago.
If you're feeling daring, take a glider ride and enjoy the valley views from the air! If flying isn't your thing visit the National Soaring Museum to learn more about the national and local gliding history.
Harris Hill Overlook is part of the Points of Inspiration Scenic Views Trail. For more information and stops on the trail, visit www.pointsofinspiration.net.
