Caboose Motel

Whether you are a railroad fan or a simply looking for a unique adventure, staying in one of our converted cabooses will be memorable for you and your family. The Caboose Motel is proud to be the only motel in New York State that offers caboose accommodations. Our establishment sits in close proximity to great Finger Lakes Region attractions, all of which are suitable for any age and interest.

Accommodations include 17 conventional rooms and 5 fully accommodated caboose rooms, large play area for the kids, fire pits and picnic areas with gas grills. RV hookups are also available. Refrigerators, microwaves and wired/wireless internet in available in all conventional rooms.

Beginning in 1986, we have restored and converted five 1916, N5 cabooses to family size motel rooms and we have been renting them ever since. We were very careful to preserve as much as was possible of the original caboose architecture and structure during the renovation. All cabooses are equipped with a bathroom with shower, seating, cable TV, telephone, two upper berths (original sleepers), one single and one double bed for lower berths. Four of our cabooses will sleep five people and the fifth will sleep six. There are logbooks placed in each caboose for the express purpose of being written in by our customers. Many travelers have found a great deal of pleasure reading through these logs and contributing their own experiences and feelings to them. Each room has a volume-controlled speaker that similates the sound of a train in motion, to enhance the effect. Each unit also has controls for A/C and heat.
