When visiting our region and taking part in the wine tasting and dining experience, you might notice how much we enjoy experimenting with different pairings. Local chefs and sommeliers pride themselves in finding the perfect partner for the seasonal dishes served throughout the year, inspiring guests to want to replicate the experience at home.
And that is exactly what Finger Lakes Wine Country fan Jessica van Dop DeJesus, Author, Home Chef, and Creative behind The Dining Traveler, did when cooking up a special dish of pernil (roasted pork shoulder), a Puerto Rican favorite dish often reserved for holidays such as Christmas or Dia de Los Reyes Magos (Three Kings Day) which is celebrated in Spanish cultures on January 6th.
Jessica paired her traditional recipe with dry Riesling from Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard and Ravines Wine Cellars. Check out her cooking tutorial below, best enjoyed with wine in hand!
