The duality of my interest in both painting and stained glass is a result of my years at Notre Dame University, studying these two areas under Robert Leader, one of the finest designers of his era. I have been fortunate to have had a number of major commissions in stained glass, however my first love has always been painting. While most people know me as a stained glass artist, my primary interest lies in the realm of realist painting. I love to paint settings and people which are familiar to me and with which I feel comfortable. My motive for painting is the pure challenge and enjoyment of it. I’ve always been indifferent to selling paintings. The joy comes from having created the finished image.
