The Lackawanna Rail Trail is a multi use pathway connecting Lowman NY with Elmira along the Chemung River. Walk, Ride, Snowshoe and Ski this all year trail and enjoy the natural beauty of the region as well as the historic past.

From native footpath to Junction Canal to Rail Line and back to footpath the Lackawanna Trail is part of our transportation legacy. With a trail head in Lowman where the Battle of Newtown was fought to river vistas and along the Newtown Creek into Elmira and finally ending in Eldridge Park the Lackawanna Trail keeps us connected to our past as well as our future.
