Billsboro Winery is home to 26 acres of rolling hills, vineyards and forest. In August of 2007, local winemaker Vincent Aliperti and his wife Kim took over ownership, keeping the Billsboro name. Together with their three children they plan to continue the vision of a small family-run farm winery.
Vincent (Vinny) Aliperti, Winemaker and Production Manager, has been making wine for over 10 years on Long Island and in the Finger Lakes. His style of lively, food-friendly wines has earned him numerous awards, locally, nationally and internationally. In addition to making wines for Billsboro Winery, Vinny continues to make wines for Atwater Estate Vineyards, on the east side of Seneca Lake, in Hector, NY.
Kimberly Aliperti, Sales and Special Events Coordinator, is a former high school English teacher. An active member of the Geneva community, she looks forward to using her skills to help the family business grow.
Winemaker Vincent (Vinny) Aliperti is known for his crisp clean style of winemaking with particular attention to expressing each variety's true characteristics. Vinny began his career on Long Island, where for three vintages, (1997-1999), he apprenticed at Wolffer Estate under winemaker Roman Roth, producing mainly Merlot and Chardonnay. In early 2000, Vinny and his family moved to the Finger Lakes where he took a job with Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyards in Dundee, NY. Shortly after the 2000 harvest Vinny was lured over to the east side of Seneca Lake to Atwater Estate Vineyards where he has been head winemaker and operations manager since 2003. He is thrilled to be starting his own winery, together with his wife Kim and their three children.
Vinny's crisp, clean, food-friendly style of winemaking has earned him praise and awards both locally and nationally, including several mentions in The Wine Spectator. He was the recipient of the 'Best North American Riesling' at the Grand Hyatt National Riesling Championship held in November 2006 in Australia. He looks forward to producing award-winning wines under the Billsboro Label.
