Enlighten yourself with arts and culture. With ties to aviation history, the Underground Railroad, and the Civil War, the
Finger Lakes is a region to discover the past that has shaped our future.
7:55 a.m. – Started my day off with a yummy breakfast - egg bake that included ham, potatoes, cheese, broccoli, and mushrooms.
8:36 a.m. – Strolled through a beautiful cemetery and paid homage to an American classic. Mark Twain, 1835-1910.
10:11 a.m. – I could almost hear Twain’s pen scratch across paper when I visited his original Octagonal study, one of the stops on our trolley tour.
11:07 a.m. – Standing in front of a Claude Gellee dit Lorrain painting, I was transformed to a different time and place.
12:15 p.m. – Enjoyed a slice of cake made with Finger Lakes Riesling. The perfect treat after a cobb salad and iced tea .
12:50 p.m. – Browsing through the unique collections at an antiques shop, I relived the past with their massive selection of furniture and accessories.
1:54 p.m. – Saddled up and explored incredible western art paintings and sculptures. Go west young man!
3:21 p.m. – Chatted with a friendly owner of a local coffee shop while revving up with an iced latte.
4:18 p.m. – Let my imagination play as I crafted my own glass souvenir.
6:50 p.m. – Finger Lakes wine paired with Finger Lakes food. My taste buds went wild! Enjoyed dinner at a local bistro, loved the locally-focused menu.
8:27 p.m. – Enjoyed watching the sun fall into the lake from the deck off my hotel room – a great end to a great day.
