Make Your Own Glass
You don’t have to be a professional artist to sculpt a beautiful glass flower out of glass, form a glass bead to wear on a necklace, or make a holiday ornament to decorate your Christmas tree. Book a 40-minute Make Your Own Glass experience at The Corning Museum of Glass, and you can do all this and more, with the help of professional glassmakers who walk you through every step of the way.
The Museum offers projects for all ages (as young as preschool), and it’s a great way to enhance your tour of the 35 centuries of glass artistry on display at the Museum. Make Your Own Glass experiences are available seven days a week, all year round. There are numerous projects to choose from all year long, as well as seasonal projects like glass pumpkins in the fall, glass snowmen in the winter, and glass heart paperweights and pendants around Valentine’s Day.
Want to spend a day or weekend exploring glassmaking? More intensive experiences are available in the fall and spring in the form of one-day and weekend workshops at the Museum’s glassmaking school, The Studio.
For all glassmaking experiences and classes, it’s recommended that you book ahead at www.cmog.org.
