Cayuga Lake Wine Trail’s Holiday Gifts

Finger Lakes Region, Cayuga Lake, NY (December 3, 2009) – With the Holiday Season upon us, it’s the time to bake your favorite cookies, whimsically decorate the house and buy that special someone the gift that they'll always remember. Here along the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail located in the heart of the Finger Lakes we are offering you three great ideas. Our Sampler Case of Cayuga Lake Wine Trail wines containing wines from dry to sweet, sure to please any wine palate, our Vino Visa Coupon Book with coupons from the wineries and other local businesses and our Season Pass your ticket to all of our most popular trail events.

Our Sampler Case includes six whites, five reds and a fruit wine, Cranberry Bog by Montezuma Winery. The whites range from dry Chardonnays to a sweeter Vidal Blanc. The reds range from a bone dry Chancellor to a medium red, Luckystone Red, from Sheldrake Point Vineyard.

We have two Chardonnays in the case one from Cobblestone Farm Winery, a dry wine with light oaky flavors balanced with fruitiness and aromas of pear and green apple plus King Ferry's Silver Lining Chardonnay fermented in stainless steel that is off-dry with hints of tropical fruit flavors. Lucas Vineyards, Dry Riesling has hints of bright floral and subtle apricot that meets with steely mineral and lime flavors. Hosmer Winery's, Riesling, displays flavors of mango, apple and lime with a lively honey character. Goose Watch Winery's, Traminette is made from a new premium wine grape developed by Cornell University that is very dry, with a distinctive spicy finish that is reminiscent of Gewurztraminer. Swedish Hill Vineyard's, Vidal Blanc offers subtle citrusy and peachy aromas with hints of fresh cut herbs in the finish. Our reds consist of Cayuga Ridge Estate Winery's, Chancellor, a dry jammy red with light tannins and soft oak. Buttonwood Grove Winery's, RedBud is a blend that is bursting with bright cherry aromas and delicate hints of oak with a smooth finish. Knapp Winery's, Serenity is a warm, spicy flavorful red wine with a rich and soft finish that is a blend of Cabernet Franc and Baco Noir. Americana Vineyards', Baco Noir is a medium-bodied, deep red burgundy with hints of dark cherries, raspberries and a smooth peppery finish. The Sampler Case sells for $148.35 plus shipping and tax and these wines are also available by the bottle.

In our 2010 Vino Visa Coupon Book the wineries are offering more free tasting coupons than ever plus other great discounts. Coupons from other local businesses include fantastic deals from East Shore Café, LaTourelle Resort & August Moon Spa, Simply Red Bistro, Hotel Clarence, Holiday Inn in Waterloo-Seneca Falls, Life’s So Sweet, Cayuga Lake Country Inn, Barrister’s Bed & Breakfast, Ramada Inn in Ithaca, Cayuga Lake Creamery and Crystal Lake Café at Americana Vineyards. This coupon book can be purchased online or at any of the wineries for $15.00. They make perfect stocking stuffers.
