When you think of the Finger Lakes thoughts of endless wineries and vineyards probably come to mind. With over 100 wineries in the region it’s easy to assume that most activities in the Finger Lakes are for wine drinkers. That is where you’d be wrong, the Finger Lakes have plenty of incredible activities from museums to the outdoors that don’t involve wine or drinking. Check out these 6 activities that prove that the Finger Lakes have much more to offer than wineries and vineyards.

Last year, I was invited to attend the Finger Lakes Wine Festival. As a first time attendee, I can attest that at times the festival can seem a little overwhelming. My goal was to learn as much as I could about wine in the Finger Lakes and try things I hadn’t sampled before. By the end of the festival, I felt like I had a good handle on how to get what I wanted out of the event.

There’s no bad time to go wine tasting, but fair warning, Saturdays in September and October are the busiest days of the year. You will get a more personalized experience if you go on a weekday or during the colder months. I, personally, love to visit during the winter
