WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (December 8, 2015) – Starting today fans of Seneca Lake Wine Trail wineries can again purchase the Polar Passport, giving them the opportunity to enjoy a complimentary standard flight of wine at all of the 27 participating wineries.
The Polar Passport, designed to encourage visitation to wineries in the quieter winter months, is valid from December 7, 2015 through March 31, 2016, and can be used once at each participating winery for a standard flight of wine samples. Some wineries opt to extend a discount to Passport holders, so guests should be sure to check each winery’s page to view the specials!
Seneca Lake Wine Trail Executive Director, Paul Thomas said “Many folks ask why they should bother visiting the wineries in the ‘off’ season, and the answer is remarkably simple: it is the best time of year, when owners, winemakers, and vineyard managers are most likely to be present in the tasting room, with the time to chat with customers.”
Passport holders have an opportunity to earn a Polar Passport for the 2016/2017 season by purchasing at least one bottle of wine from a minimum of 14 participating wineries, having their Passport stamped confirming the purchase, and returning the stamped page to the Trail office by the due date.
