OWEGO, N.Y. (May 8, 2018) - Ike and Julie Lovelass, owners of The Owego Kitchen and residents of Owego, will be featured on and upcoming episode of the nationally televised HGTV show, House Hunters. The episode will air on HGTV on May 22, 2018 at 10:30 p.m. and again on May 23, 2018 at 1:30 a.m. The episode will then be available on demand through Spectrum’s On-Demand services for HGTV and some streaming services.
Working with local realtor, Jerri Sarrge, owner of Realty Solutions Group, the couple spent five full days filming at three separate properties throughout Owego and the surrounding area. According to the HGTV website the Lovelass’ “Want to expand their current business by creating an inn for travelers. She wants a home with historic value, but he wants a home with projects that can keep him busy.”
Anyone who is acquainted with the couple knows that taking on large projects does not phase them. Their current business, The Owego Kitchen, at 13 Lake St., Owego, N.Y., was a property that remained vacant for 10 years and in need of much repair. In under a year they had completely renovated the historic brick building and opened their business. Now, they are bringing the same energy to their latest venture. “I enjoy taking on a challenging project. Working with HGTV on this project helped identify exactly the right balance for us,” said Ike Lovelass. Their plan for the new property, identified during the show, is to develop an Inn and catering venue, expanding their current hospitality business.
House Hunter’s Associate Producer, Adam Choit, says “I strongly suggest you check your local listings, and keep an eye on them for any possible late changes.”
