WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (October 8, 2015) — GRAFT wine + cider bar recently opened in the beautifully renovated and expanded space formerly known as The Tasting Room, and the Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce invites you to celebrate at a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, October 14 at 5:00 p.m.

GRAFT is the area’s only wine and cider bar and market exclusively serving and selling a variety of New York State handcrafted wines and hard ciders. Premium Finger Lakes producers are highlighted on a rotating, seasonally focused bar and kitchen menu. “GRAFT, in horticulture, means to unite a shoot or bud with a growing plant to create something new; to join two things together to create one. At GRAFT, we look forward to joining community with locally inspired seasonal menus and New York wine + cider,” says proprietor Katie Marks.

Creative, simple, seasonal small-bites, snacks, salads, sandwiches and desserts are thoughtfully prepared in-house and designed to share and to pair, by popular regional chef, Christina McKeough. Christina, and her husband Jonah, are best known for founding the popular Hazelnut Kitchen in Trumansburg. She is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and a chef dedicated to sourcing local products whenever possible. “I am sourcing locally whenever possible as the menu is created with the seasons and the wine and ciders in mind.  Our offerings will change regularly, sharing is encouraged, and although it is a light menu, one could absolutely make it a full meal,” says GRAFT chef Christina McKeough

GRAFT Wine + Cider Bar is located at 204 North Franklin Street in Watkins Glen. Their phone number is 607-210-4324. GRAFT is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 4:00 - 10:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday 2:00 - 10:00 p.m., and they are closed on Sunday and Monday.

Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Rebekah LaMoreaux is excited to celebrate the arrival of this unique new business, “I’m so happy to welcome Katie and crew back to North Franklin Street! We are ready to toast their return with local wine and cider!”

The ribbon cutting will include remarks by Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Rebekah LaMoreaux, County Legislators, and a representative from Watkins Glen Promotions.
