Monday, feb. 16: Sensory Perception with nancy tisch
Wine Education Seminar at 3 PM at the Radisson Hotel in Corning with Nancy Tisch owner of Bet the Farm. This seminar's topic is Sensory Perception, focusing on how sense of smell, taste, and tectile senses interplay to make up one's favorite wines.
Nancy Tisch is the owner and winemaker at Bet the Farm in Aurora, New York. She has worked as a medical laboratory technologist, professor of ecology and mathematics, innkeeper, and more. Her science and math background along with her adventurous spirit have made the transition to entrepreneurship a natural fit. Her business is deeply rooted in her passion for food and wine. A native of Rhode Island, Nancy has resided in Ithaca since 1998. Outside interests include cooking, recreational soccer and creative writing.
tuesday, feb. 17: Local Wine & Cheese with Shannon Brock
Wine and Food Pairing Seminar at 3 PM at the Radisson Hotel in Corning with Shannon Brock, wine coordinator at the NY Wine and Culinary Center. This pairing seminar's topic is Finger Lakes Wine and Cheese. Shannon will lead you on a tasting of 3 Finger Lakes wines paired with 3 Finger Lakes cheeses.

Shannon Brock is the Wine Coordinator at The New York Wine & Culinary Center. The New York Wine & Culinary Center is located on the north end of Canandaigua Lake in the city of Canandaigua in Finger Lakes Wine Country. In addition to offering recreational classes in wine appreciation and culinary arts, the New York Wine & Culinary Center features a tasting room with New York wine and beer, a restaurant focused on local ingredients, and a gift boutique with local products.

Sprits and Cocktails Education Seminar at 3 PM at the Radisson Hotel in Corning with Chris Carlsson, editor of Spirits Review. This seminar's topic is Spirited New York. Microdistilling and Cocktails - New York Wine and Spirits in Cocktails / Mixology. As exploration of spirits and microdistillation in the Finger Lakes and New York State. Will include a tasting, recipe list, and a short history of cocktails and mixology.

Chris Carlsson is from Rochester, NY and is the man behind SpiritsReview.com. Chris has a great appreciation of wine, beer, and spirits, and has since an early age. When Chris isn’t writing and reviewing beverages for this webpage, he working in his family’s rare bookshop. He also enjoys skydiving, BASE jumping, antiquing – especially for anything to do with booze! – Sci-Fi movies, and music.
Thursday, feb. 19: riesling rocks! with holly howell
Wine Education Seminar at 3 PM at the Radisson Hotel in Corning with Holly Howell, Finger Lakes wine writer. In this session we will discover the magic of the Riesling grape!

Holly grew up in a food-loving family in Pittsford, New York. At eighteen, she spent a year in France learning to love wine and French cooking. After several years of study in Hotel and Restaurant Management, she operated a Cooking School in East Rochester, New York, where she coordinated and ran culinary programs with chefs from all over the world. She returned to school at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where she completed course work in Computer Programming and then graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Food Marketing. Since then, she has taught wine and food pairing classes for Wegmans Food Markets, several Finger Lakes Wineries, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Rochester, the New York Wine & Culinary Center, and her parents own cooking school “The Seasonal Kitchen”.
Holly is a member of the American Wine Society, Women for Winesense, and the American Institute of Wine and Food. She writes bi-weekly wine columns for the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle newspaper, and monthly articles for Mountain Home Magazine in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. Holly is a CSW (Certified Specialist of Wine) through the Society of Wine Educators; a CS (Certified Sommelier) through the Master Court of Sommeliers in England; and is currently pursuing her certification through the WSET (Wine and Spirits Education Trust). Holly is passionate about food and wine, and has an enthusiastic and fun approach to learning!
friday, feb. 20: new wines of the finger lakes with rob lane
Wine Education Seminar at 3 PM at the Radisson Hotel in Corning with Rob Lane, the Finger Lakes Weekend Wino blogger. This seminar, "New Wines of the Finger Lakes" will feature an in-depth tasting on hybrid varietals produced in the Finger Lakes. Think Vidal Blanc and Seyval Blanc. Rob is one of the most knowledgable writers in the region about Finger Lakes wines. Come taste and share his passion.

Rob Lane, aka The Finger Lakes Weekend Wino, is obsessed with Finger Lakes wines and, last year alone, he visited over 90 Finger Lakes wineries and tasted over 700 Finger Lakes wines. He writes a monthly Finger Lakes Wine & Dine column for Mountain Home magazine and is the creator and publisher of the popular website www.fingerlakesweekendwino.blogspot.com with news, reviews, and discussion about the Finger Lakes and Finger Lakes wine. He is also a winemaker, wine educator, and a musician, singer and songwriter and performs at many Finger Lakes events featuring songs from his CD "Songs of The Finger Lakes".
